Policies
Recital:
Participation in the year-end recital is optional. However, we ASSUME all students will be in the recital. As such, we purchase costumes on your behalf and you are obligated for payment of these costumes, unless we are informed in writing prior to December 1, 2008 that you do not wish to participate in the recital.

Students whose accounts are not paid in full by May 15, 2009 (costumes, tuition, etc.) may not be allowed to participate in the recital unless payment arrangements have been made with Miss Lisa.

Payments:
Due dates for registration, tuition, and costumes payments are indicated on the Fees Page and reminders will be posted at the studio. Our monthly and trimester tuition rates are discounted. Dancers whose payments are late are not eligible for the discount and will be charged the per class fee. If you receive an invoice from us, this means your account is PAST DUE and must be made current immediately. If you feel you have received and invoice in error, we will be happy to review our records with you and clear up any errors. All payments are non-refundable. At the discretion of the studio, studio 'credit' may be granted for any unused balances (valid for one year from the date of issue).

Attendance:
Please be prepared to make a weekly commitment from September through May. Students who miss class regularly will be expected to catch up on their owe, as it is not fair to hinder the progress of the rest of the class. Occasional absences can be made up in other similar classes. Dancers who attend classes regularly and attentively will show the most progress in their skill level.

Classes will meet every week per the schedule (please note holiday shut-downs) unless we notify you otherwise. If we need to cancel due to weather or instructor availability, we will call you.

Classroom Decorum:
While dance class is a ‘fun’ activity, it is still a classroom and students must behave accordingly, showing respect for their classmates and instructor. Students who are unwilling to behave appropriately may be asked to take a ‘time out’ or to leave the classroom (temporarily or permanently).

Dress Code:
Dance attire (no street clothes) is mandatory in all classes. Hair should be off the face and secured. Dancers who are inappropriately dressed for class my be excused for the day, at the instructor’s discretion. Correct attire is critical for the safety of the dancer and to allow instructors to make appropriate technical corrections.
  • Tap: While or black shoes (varies by class) with Teltone taps and buckles (no ties)
  • Ballet: Pink shoes, pink tights, leotard
  • Jazz: Black shoes
  • Hip-Hop: Black dance shoes
  • Lyrical: Tan lyrical sandals

The studio will place shoe orders in September, November, January, and April. If you want us to order shoes, make sure you instructor puts you on the order list. These orders are non-refundable, non-exchangeable. Follow the shoe ordering guidelines for best results. We also have a used shoe exchange at the studio where you can buy or sell used shoes.
